Need Assistance on RAM

Greetings,

My laptop model is Compaq Presario CQ40-401AX and it has originally installed with 1GB RAM [ 1GB 2Rx16 PC2 64005-666].This works fine with gaming or working.

But I took my previous laptop's RAM and slotted into Compaq laptop, everything seem slightly work faster but as for gaming it frequently cause screen lagging, and makes laptop heat up fast. And the RAM is 1GB 2Rx8 PC2 42005-444.

 

May I know whether Compaq could use 2Rx8 RAM or the RAMs' was incompatible...

Not incompatible just not a good idea. You went from 800 mhz PC2-6400 memory to 533 mhz PC2-4200 memory which slows the whole system down and is not a good match for the processor. If you want more memory go buy some PC2-6400 memory.
