Hi, Perform the below steps to resolve the 'HP CUE scaning flow component' error message while scaning issue. Before performing the troubleshooting steps check the communication between the printer and computer. Print a Network configuration page from the front panel of the printer by performing below steps and take the printer IP address. 1. Press setup on the All-in-One and then select the option Network. 2. Select view network settings and then select print network configuration page. Please open the Web browser software (such as Internet Explorer or Netscape) on your computer and type the IP address of the all-in-one from the network configuration page into the Address field and then press Enter. If you are able to see the printer information page, that confirms the two way communication between the printer and computer is working fine. Now, perform the below steps: A. Go to the Control Panel. Start > Control Panel. 1. Security Center 1. Scroll to the Bottom 2. Click "Windows Firewall" 3. Click "Exceptions" Tab 4. Click "Add Program" 5. Click "Browse" 6. Select C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpqkyrgp.exe Select C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpqscnvw.exe. a. Click OK b. Click OK c. Close all windows d. Reboot Then try to scan from HP Solution Center. I hope this should resolve the issue. Thanks & Regards. Sameer

mrq, There seems to be a lot of posting on this. If you do a search you'll seen a bunch of threads on this (search). http://h30434.www3.hp.com/psg/search?board_id=Scan&submitted=true&q=scanning+flow+component Here's the main solution documented in the threads. Not pretty, but seems to fix the problem. 1. Go to registry. 2. Go to HKEY_ Local_ Machine\Software\Hewlett-Packard\DigitalImaging\ 3. Click on the Digital Imaging Folder and in the Right Hand Side Pane and check if the String Value "ProfileWritePath" is present and Value is set to %APPDATA%\HP\Digital Imaging\Data\Destination 4. If the Sting Value is not present right click and then click on new and then click on String Value Name it as "ProfileWritePath" and then right click on that and click on Modify and make sure that the value is set to "%APPDATA%\HP\Digital Imaging\Data\Destination" and close the registry editor. 5. Then go to My computer C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\HP\Digital Imaging\Data and check if the Destination folder is present. If not create a new folder and name it as "Destination". 6. If you are unable to locate the Application Data folder under All users, click on Tools and then click on Folder Option. In the Folder Options Window click on the View tab and under Hidden Files and Folders make sure that "Show Hidden Files and Folders" is checked and then click on Apply and then click on OK.. 7. Then Make sure that the same that the HP\Digital Imaging\Data\Destination folder is present under all user profiles Application Data folder.
I work for HP, but these words are mine alone.

Thanks for that. I have followed the steps and the scanner does work again (at least for the time being). It is prob all to do with RegCure and a gremlin in the HP software. mrq
