I have been online with support for 4 hours twice both a 2 hour session and still can not get drivers to install. When I puchased the computer It came with Vista I had the same problem but because it was new the Geeks at best buy fixed the problem. Now that I have upgraded to windows 7 the same problem is happening all over again. Please do not respond with the usual answers, I can assure you in the 4 hours online with HP support and hours of my own tring to get the drivers to install we have tried all the usual suspects. So if anyone out there has out of the box thinking please inform me of a soulotion. I think it has something to do in the resistery that is the only place I have not been. Need Help pvjr

I saw an Lexmark all in one printer for about $45 in best buy this week. It may be a better solution. kkmw

I Had this problem too and it was driving me crazy. The install froze every time at the last stage after plugging in the 4180. Uninstalling, plugging in the printer without installing the driver would not pick up the 4180 either. In desperation I uninstalled the drivers and solution center, installed until it froze/ would not progress any further; disconnected the printer, plugged in the photo 8150 printer that I elsehere in the house and let this finish its installtion without installing the drivers. The standard windows 7 drivers automatically were installed on plugging in the 8150 printer. Next uninstalled the 4180 driver and software, installed again and this time it installed OK. Solution Center and everything else works now. My guess is the installation of another HP printer fixed the problem. Apologies for the need to use another HP printer if you don't have one to hand.
