I recently upgraded my Touchsmart IQ504 to Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.  I updated all drivers for WIndows 7 from HP site.  I had been having constant freeze ups under Vista 64 bit and all of my problems seemed to be solved with the upgradr to Windows 7.  HOWEVER, a new problem has arisen.  My wireless LAN card randomly stops working - it says "not connected - no connections available".  In Device Manager, it indicates that the "device is working properly" so there is no way to fix other than to reboot, which, needless to say, becomes annoying.  I have not detemined what triggers the drop out, to this point seems very random, although it seems to occur more when the computer is on but not being used.

Any ideas or help?  Is anyone else having this problem?  Other than this problem, I am thrilled with the W7 upgrade.

Kudos!

Have you looked at your router settings? The same thing happened to me a day or two after upgrading to WIndows 7. All of a sudden, I could not connect and it looked like my connection had just disappeared. Often it gave me other connections, but never my own. After an hour with Microsoft, and a $32.00/half hour call to D-Link, I found that WIndows had re-set my connection to "D-Link" instead of the name I gave it. I just had to change the SSID back to mine and enter my password again, and BINGO......my connection was back!

Thanks - but I am afraid that my problem is different from yours - it is now clear to me that the wireless LAN card is being disabled because of a resource conflict (what triggers it is still a mystery to me) that can only be fixed with a reboot.  After the reboot, I have to go into Device Manager and "enable" the Wireless LAN card.  I still have not been able to identify what process or action triggers the resource conflict that disables the LAN card, but it clearly has nothing to do with the router.  I'm glad your problem is solved - anyone out there who might have an answer to my problem? (and it is clearly Windows 7 related - never had this problem prior to W7 - W7 thankfully solved a host of other problems that I had, but apparently created this one - if I can solve this, it would be PERFECT!)

Can you make sure you have the latest firmware update for your router? Flash it and then retest.
