I notice that the slatebook x2 contains no micro usb port, which means we are not able to connect it to pc.
So can we expect we will have root access in the furture?

Apparently these two pages present two procedures for root any android by the sole procedure that allows currently Slatebook: recovery> apply update from zip (only root, no kernel or rom change):
Someone has tested or can test?:

Has anyone tried asking HP for root access? Given their collaborative approach with the developers community with the HP Touchpad, surely they will allow root access to the slatebook too?
If no one has asked, I'll put the question to them myself.

I do not think hp will facilitate nothing about root issue. But we can ask (another time) for a usb cable (for the propietary port), all the other models have it and Slatebook also must have one

Thanks mate, I'll send HP an e-mail about the cable.
If anyone is technically inclined and would like to help achieve root on their slatebook, head over to XDA website: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2

Looks like that HP has released a cable for the HP Slatebook. See link: http://h20141.www2.hp.com/Hpparts/part_where_used.
It's expensive at $50! But it didn't put off a guy on the XDA website from buying it. I'm just waiting to see if he has any success in rooting it.

I used version ONE and it took about a minute and it is rooted. Click the LAMBDA and follow the instructions.
