Android 5.0 Lollipop

Update to the OS fails with the following message: "/system/bin/install-recovery.sh" has unexpected content. E: Error in /cache/update.zip (status 7). Installation aborted. Eve been requested twice to install updates over the last few weeks with the same message.

Same for me ; second time a proposed update fails with the same error . my tablet is 6 weeks old , and I don't trace many new apps installed,

 

I couldn't find help googling ,..

 

A bit worrying if the device c an't be updated

Bought 2 at the same time and both tablets are unable to update and showing  error in /cache/update. zip

how do i fix this.  Ive called several times and still have not gotten an resolution.  just updated zip from hp site and download was complete, but when i went through the rest of instructions to apply update to zip it will not work

I just experienced the same issue with a Pro Slate 12 loaner from HP.

 

What version is failing?  Mine was stuck on 02.02.06, and was failing on 02.04.06.

 

I'll try to get someone to help out on this thread.

Yes, I get my HP pro Slate 12 one monthe ago. Version built is 2.02.06 and automatic update aske for "Essentiel update for Google android 2.04.07"
