I have a stock HP slate, haven't done the update yet. I installed everything useful on it and only use it 5-10 min at a time. I have no evidence of better power management w/ or w/o Wi-Fi, but the battery drains very quickly even in sleep.
HP please release bootloader codes so we can deal with this problem!
Other than having to charge it in my car and at the office, its a great purchase!

That's what they said with 1.05.8 and it seemed to cause additional problems.
I've opted to leaving WiFi on and killing Chrome with Advanced Task Killer.. My battery lasts 24 hours with 1 charge and moderate use..
Screenshots coming soon.

When I try to shut down the Slatebook by using the on/off-switch at the back of the screen, it falls into 'sleep'-mode without having the option of a complete shutdown. How can I force a complete shutdown (and in that way save batterytime)?

Hello Tore1109, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Just an FYI, this thread is discussing the Slate7 tablet, not the Slatebook.

My Slatebook won't even shut down! When I hit the button, the Slatebook goes into 'Sleep'mode. Impossible to shut down.
For me it is urgent that HP prepares an update to solve these problems. They are bad publicity for a good product.
