I have a Slate 8 pro 7650 that came with Jelly Bean on it when I activated the tablet it updated to KitKat.

I would like to have it updated to Lollipop is that possible?

Hi @Unwoven,

I reviewed the post comprehensively. Thanks for the super quick reply. HP has not released any working update for this device, You've done great. If you've checked for updates and there is none, then it means there are no further updates as of now released for this device. "I have clicked on the check for updates on the tablet & it states it is up to date." I have pulled out a sentence from your post. That is how you need to check for updates. There is no other way. You've done just great. 🙂 Kudos to you for that. 🙂

You've been simply fabulous to work with, considering your technical expertise and skills. 🙂  It has been an absolute privilege to share this platform with you. 🙂 Trust me, I've done all I can to assist you, by keeping your best interest in mind.

Hi @Unwoven,

Thanks for stopping by the HP support forums. A very good day to you. 🙂 I understand that you need assistance with upgrading the HP slate pro from Kit Kat to Lollipop. It will be a genuine pleasure to assist you

Fabulous description of the issue before posting. Kudos to you on that score. 🙂  .  You are a valued HP customer and it is a privilege to share this platform with you. 🙂

For better clarity and to assist you better, I would require more information regarding this?

  • Please provide the complete product# or model# of the slate to assist you better.
  • Did you try to use the software update to check if it gets updated to Lollipop?

For now, please remember If HP has released the update then you would have received as an OTA (over the air update)

  • If you’ve tried to check for updates on your device and it shows no updates are available or the latest updates are already installed on the slate then you can safely deduce that the HP has not released an update for this device and it is only Kit Kat that is the latest version for this device.

I will keep a watch for your response. Please keep me posted.

Hope this helps.  Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. 🙂  Please reach out for any issues and I'll be there to assist you. 🙂

Hi David SMP

The product number is G4U0UT#ABA it is a model HP Slate 8 Pro 7650 as I had stated above.

I have clicked on the check for updates on the tablet & it states it is up to date.

You asked "Did you try to use the software update to check if it gets updated to Lollipop?"

I am not sure as to where else to check for the software update can you give me some guidance on this?

Thanks

Mary
