CherylG recently created a very great thread which contains several Youtube videos. The subject of the thread (located here) is about using recovery software packages and setting restore points.

 

While a pointer to this thread is what eventually got marked as the solution, I was impressed by the number of our subject experts joining in to help understand and suggest using the Macrium package. I personally use that one (based on CherylG's recommendation) and I've also got my kids using it on other computers.
