I have two questions:

1. Can I upgrade the RAM memory of my laptop (initial Ram 2Gb) by adding a 2Gb Ram memory?

2. What type of RAM should I choose to be compatible with the original RAM memories?

Thanks

Here's the Service Manual which you might find useful:

Manual

It can actually take up to 8 gigs of RAM, but it uses DDR2 laptop memory which is very expensive for 4 gig modules. So your most cost-effective upgrade is to install 4 gigs, which is much less costly.

Not sure if it has 2 x 1 gig or 1 x 2 gig right now, likely the latter. Note in the Manual the memory is in two locations: a primary module under the keyboard which in your case is likely the 2 gig module and then an expansion slot on the bottom of the laptop which will allow adding an additional module. You should only have to open the expansion bay. See p. 57 of the Manual.
