we've recently purchased ninety GT7725 Thin Clients, which all came with Agent version 4.1.3665.8423. We've tried updating these through HPDM 4.5 SP2 to an agent version in the neighbourhood of 4.5x. Though the HPDM will claim this was done successfully, the clients will retain their 4.1x agent version.
As a consequence we cannot push any images from the HPDM, because the 4.1 agent wont accept these images.
We can image these clients just fine with a USB stick, but it's still a shame we cant use the manager to fix all our clients....

the repository on the FTP and the one in the installation directory have the same stuff in them, as far as I know.
As for versions, weve tried several, but each time we did uninstall the previous versions.
One thing I forgot to mention is that it was possible for us to update age 4.1x to 4.4x using HPDM 4.4.3, but our goal is ofc to update 4.1 to 4.5.

pushing an update to a client with Agent Version 4.4.3665.14029 does not work. HPDM will say:

The client retains Agent Version 4.4.3665.14029. We already have different thin clients imaged from USB, they have Agent Version 4.5.3665.16845

Maybe there is something shown in the Agent logs?

copy pasting is tricky, so I will paraphrase:
agent starts -> try to get basic network information -> failed to get, retrying.. -> succeeded --> ini parser (update.ini)error opening file for read -> ini parser (update.ini) error opening ini -> sendto() error: 101 network is unreachable
and yeah, when i check help -> about, the HPDM console says its version 4.5.3610.16970 (cant see any references to rev A or B)

this may shed some light:
the guy there was saying that the client has to be connected to the interwebs in order to update HPDM agent. Our clients dont seem to be able to connect to the internet unless they are USB-imaged...
edit: we connected the agent to the internet, updating will still not work, however

We have installed a clean sp60327_HPDM 4.5.exe and sp61281_HPDM 4.5 SP2.exe as our HPDM.
HPDM and FTP repository are OK and can be connected.
Clients are GT7725 with for as far we know standard image:
Device version: TX31012 with the 4.1.3665.8423 agent.
Updating the client (via USB) to image sp50706.exe will give:
Device version: TX33009 with the 4.4.3665.12454 agent.
Updating the agent with HPDM will update the 4.4.3665.12454 agent to 4.5.3665.16845
We made an image from the manually updated GT7725 to HPDM repository.
When distributing image it to a new GT7725 it will give error: 14000052 (update agent)
When update the 4.1 agent with HPDM to 4.5, HPDM tells us it’s OK but agent on client is still 4.1
