I am trying to program the soft keys in TeemTalk 7.0. I have built "scripts" using the in build tools.
When I open a saved session the soft keys are displayed as expected. However pressing one of the
keys does not run the associated scripts. An example script name is <'s:\hp-T5730\login.spt'>
It I open the script editor and click run it works? Now if I click the softkey it runs.
Exiting and reruning TeemTalk 7.0 then opening the saved session fills in the softkeys as expected
however clicking one of them does not run the script unless I forst open it in "Tools", "Script".
I am at a loss.

Updating to 7.3.5 resolved the issues and I did get a copy for Windows that works fine.

I don't seem to have any problems doing the same sort of thing.
A couple of things you could try:
Put round brackets on the end of the file name
Try a different drive - can't think why your s drive might not be available though!
\<c:\program files\Hewlett Packard\HP Teemtalk\ask_quit.spt()'\>
If that doesn't help please let me know what version of TeemTalk are you using (the latest is 220.127.116.1129)
Also - do you get an error message "Cannot find login.spt" or anything?

I tried adding () to the end of the file name to no avail. If I bring the Script file under tools script
it will run OK. I tried moving the .spt file to another drive. No help.
I am running TeemTalk 18.104.22.1684 under XPe SP-3.
How would I get the latest? Can you point me to a URL to get it?
See attachment one Synology.txt (tts). Connection setup. See SynologyLogin.txt (spt) the script.
The problem is getting the soft button defined in Synology.tts to work correctly.

I found a newer version of TeemTalk at the software depot.
It was TeemTalk 22.214.171.12429
I downloaded it and installed it. It seems to have corrected the issues.
It seems to have created an occasional [login.exe failed to address 000000].
Then a crash to address 0x00000005. Another boot seems to fix this. All I could
think is that my XPe SP-3 is not current enough or needs a patch.

I'm not sure about the login.exe issue - does that relate to TeemTalk? (The only thing I know about!)

I like this so much I ordered a 'PC' copy from CDW. To run on a 'PC' you need a license
number not like with a Thin Client where you don't.
I was told it would be "Electronically Drop Shipped" from HP. How do you drop ship
software electronically? Let alone a license number?
I have a feeling this software (TeemTalk) is discontinued. From within HP do you
have a way to check this. I would hate to have spent $$$ only for it never to
show up. By the way are you running it on a P.C.?
And, yes, the login problem does not seem to be related TeemTalk other then it
might be overwriting memory somewhere on the Thin Client. The problem did
not occur prior to installing 7.3.5.

I believe you download the software from the web but are emailed (electronically dropped!) a license key - and it won't run until you enter the key.
HP still sells and supports TeemTalk, I'm not sure it does much to market it though! It sells itself ;-)

BTW Having re-read the thread I see the script is called "login" - there is an auto-login tool which simplifies waiting for prompts & sending replies. See page 32 of the manual (accessible from the Help menu).
However, if you have everything working why change it? ;-)
