HP Prime plot grid autoscale

Hi.

Would it be possible to get numbers to the plot grid on each gridline, instead of having them roughly on the edges of the grids x and y axis?
And secondly, would it be posible that when you use the autoscale on it, that it really would autoscale it by Y axis, but also with the X axis. It would be practical that it would automatically chance these tick numbers and scale to the screen? Then it just would have to have numbers on every gridlines so you wouldnt get confused. For examble 10×sin(314×X) looks just a thich blue line on the grid,even in autoscale.

If this isnt possible now, would it be possible to get somekind of OS update that it could work like this?

Hello,

Actually, doing an horizontal auto scale is a "hard" problem to solve.

The issue is that it is very hard for a computer to "see" what is the area of R that are of interest.

To do it, the calcualtor would need to get a global understanding of the shape of the equation on R and then decide what is interesting, and what is not!

Could it be possible that when you autoscale sin function, it would show like 3 or 4 roots? Or that there would be settings for autoscale where you could change how many roots it would show? If that is correct phrase for it, I mean these Y=0 sections. Then again, it would have to have numbers on the gridlines.

In my opinion the best way to get a nice image is:

Start with view Decimal.

Turn Trace off.

Tap the point of the image you are interested in.

Repeatedly press the + key to zoom in.

After this choose Autoscale.

When you now want to know the coordinates of interesting points tap them and you see the exact coordinates.

When you do not see them press the menu button to show them.

The advantage of this method is that you can decide yourself which region you want to see in great detail.

Another way of zooming in is to tap the screen with 2 fingers and move them apart from each other. This way you can quickly zoom in one direction.

That seems to work fine. It just that human nature is lazy and greedy, so all things should come to you with minimum efford 🙂 Maybe I just have to do it like that.
