how long does the battery last in it?  Is there a way to get a battery indicator on it?

Hello,

 

The battery life is > 1 year...

 

In real life it can be as long as 2 or 3 years depending on your use, but the official figure is 1 year.

If you use and needed purchase for change the two (2) Li-ion batteries 3VDC, CR2032,CN2032, coin type, see the date, in the blister, of expired warranty.

Didn't stay installed, in your calculator, the batteries, if you don't use by large time. Remember, what if installed, drain voltage, On or OFF (milivolts).

The better brand of, batteies are ... Duracell, Panasonic, Sony, Maxell, Energizer, etc ...

Before install, clean the both sides with pharmaceutical alcohol (99%).

 

The battery life, depend your use and is between, one and two year's. 

 

Warning: Don't use rechargeable batteries. Each, have 3.6VDC (Appendix A, from Manual) ...
