My old HP48sx won't start anymore. Before there were already problems to shut it down (keyboard problems). Does anyone know a company that still repairs these calculators? I can't find anything on the HP website, and I'd prefer not to buy a new because of emotional reasons.

Thx in advance

One trick which works on many old HP 48's is to press down on the bevel right above the B or C key while pressing the ON key.  This might allow your HP 48 to turn on.  If any keys fail to work while turned on, try pressing the bevel again while pressing those keys.  You might also have to do this to turn the calculator off (unless you assign the OFF command to another key, of course).

Hope this helps!  Disclaimer: I don't work for HP, but I have a bunch of old HP 48's, and this trick works of some of them.

Thx, for the tip. I used to do it this way the last years, but now this doesn't work anymore. I think there also is a problem with the battery compartiment.
