hp designjet 800ps 42
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have the Fiery Workstation 5 on the PC with Windows 7, and can access a couple of different digital printers in house, but cannot access the designjet 800ps. Not sure why? The message after entering the correct ip address is 'invalid ip address'.

Would be nice to be able to manage colour and other things with the designjet through the workstation as I do with many files on the other printers.

I have a feeling you have an error with the ip address. Please post the ip address of your computer and the ip address of the printer so we can see if they will work.

Hello Davidzuts. I took some pictures and created a one page jpeg that shows the ip address in the display of the printer, and also in the url of my browser, plus withinn the Workstation. In all three pics the ip address is the same.

My computer's ip is 192.168.2.14ip address search in command workstation.jpg

I think you are doing it wrong. The printer is not a server so I do not know how you are trying to attach. What you need to do is go to devices and printers and then choose the item add printer, local printer, click on create port and in the drop down choose standard tcp/ip, next and then just follow the instructions on each page.

Thanks for the response. I will see if I can connect using your direction. Although I have added this printer already and can see it and print to it through other programs. I just cannot see it through Fiery Command Workstation. The workstation is the desired area to be able to manipulate the files for print, not through the simple 'HP print 3' software. There isn't much to work with inside of that.
