AC Dual Voltage 110/240 V - Monitor w2207h not working?

Hello,

 

I have recently moved to the UK with a monitor I purchased at Best Buy in the US.  The AC adapter states that it can convert the voltage automatically but when I connected it in the UK all I got was a very dark screen and have no clue if I need to do something in order for it to be changed over to the 240V 50hz specs.  Does anyone have an idea on how this should be done?  Appreciate any help in this matter.
