Audio very low in volume.

I have a Pavilion m1270n Media Center computer, Windows XP. The issue I am having is sound problem, where the audio level is 10% or less. I have tried another pair of powered speakers, on the both the rear and front outputs. I have tried to reinstall the audio drivers, as well as install your update for the audio SP26552.exe. Removed all of the attached accessories, reducing the computer down to the original equipment only. Lastly I ran a recovery to another blank hard drive all with no changes to audio level. Should I now try a purchased PCI audio card?

Re: Audio very low in volume.

I did do all of the HP suggested checks and tests. Nothing changed! April 5, 2012. I purchased a PCI add-on Sound Card. I disabled the on-board audio and installed the new Sound Card. The OS detected the new card and I was able to use the new adapter right away. The audo capability of the system has been restored.

Thanks for trying to help.
