HP Pavilion Elite HPE Phoenix h9-1130
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Bought the system two days ago: only installations are Steam and its respective games, my printer, my router (Cisco Linksys E4200), MS Office 2010, and my webcam software
Whenever I plug my Bose QuietComfort 15 headphones into the computer, there is a constant buzzing noise in the background that never occurred with my old HPE-112y. Most of the time it is faint and becomes unnoticeable if I play a song, etc., but when I launch a GPU-intensive program (i.e. Portal 2) the buzz becomes very noticeable and annoying. It almost sounds like a very high pitched squeal. Any help on this issue would be appreciated - my headphones are noise cancelling and sound perfectly fine on any other device except this computer.

I'm having the same exact problem! Regardless of what headphones I use, I'm getting a strange, constant high-pitched mechanical sound in my headphones. I just got this computer the other day, and the noise has been occuring from the getgo. It seems to get louder and more annoying the more the computer is processing.
