Beanbro, lets begin with the second part of your question first. Your computer has a 250W power supply unit (PSU). This is not enough for even a newer entry level video card. You would definitely have to upgrade to use a good card. Here is a link to one that comes highly recommended by Royal Serpent:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8
The card in the link is a quality PSU that will give you clean power.
Now, the best mid-priced video card is the next topic. I like three brands: XFX, BFG and EVGA. At present, I have two XFX cards; GeForce 7900 GTX 512MB and ATI 4870 XXX 1GB. Both cards are very good. I highly recommend XFX. They stand behind their products and have very good and helpful Techs.
Your main concern is the size of the new cards. Many of them are 9.5" or longer. I would suggest that you open the case and take measurements of the space provided. Here is the "Form Factor" of your motherboard:
- uATX: 9.6 in X 8.6 in
Once you know how much space is provided, let us know and we can make some recommendations.

Thank you so much for your time & info. One question, the Ge force card you mentioned - is it an older card? I was at a store today and saw stuff like 9800gtx. are they any better? Thanks again, Rick

Beanbro, you are welcome. The card I mentioned is definitely older. I bought it new in 2006. It was a great card until games got more power hungry. The 9800GTX cards are a bit newer, but far more powerful. The major problem you will have with the newer cards is the space in your case. They have gotten longer and longer. Many of them are two slots deep. This can be a problem. Also, if your PSU is not SLI/CrossFire ready, you won't have adquate power for some of the cards. They take an additional 6 pin power connector. Some even require two connectors. As I said, I have had excellent service from XFX cards.
