Blinking monitor

1. HP Pavilion p6610f PC, Product No. BM417AA#ABA

2. Windows 7 64-bit

3. There are not any error messages.

4. There was a power supply failure.

5. The issue is my monitor, when it is off and I turn it on the monitor blinks on and off for around 5 minutes, after this duration the monitor begins to work fine. Also when I load up my computer there is a message saying the Catalyst Control Center does not work with the GeForce 520 graphics card I am currently using.

Re: Blinking monitor

The blinking monitor seems to be a defect capacitor.
That the Catalyst Control Center does not work with the GeForce 520 graphics card is obvious - CCC is for ATI/AMD graphics cards.
You should uninstall it and use Nvidia Controller.

Re: Blinking monitor

CCC is for ATI cards only, uninstall it.  Do a search for Driver Sweeper to truly get rid of it.

Re: Blinking monitor

Can the blinking monitor's capacitor be replaced without extensive knowledge of monitors? If so would you please instruct me on how to replace it.

Re: Blinking monitor

Also do you know the cause of the defected capacitor? I'd like to avoid this issue in the future.

Re: Blinking monitor

Is there a certain driver sweeper you would recommend? Also would you post some instructions so I wont be able to mess up. Also after deleting CCC how would I activate the NVIDIA driver?

reviews or not, I think it works quite well.  Operates in Safe Mode (F8 at startup).  Will let you specifically select ATE and nVidia drivers, would recommend you do both.  Dont select things youre not familiar with as you can kill the OS and then have to reinstall.
