Yes, you can connect two monitors to one PC tower... but your PC tower must have multiple outputs that support concurrent use and your monitors must have matching inputs for it to work. If your system doesn't support multiple and concurrent outputs there are other options to resolve this.

Re: Can I connect two monitors on one PC tower?cc=us

My HP Pavilion HPE h8-1030 Desktop PC has an additional VGA and DVI port on the Integrated ATI Radeon HD 4200 card, but the ports were covered with a plastic lid screwed on with special screws that read DO NOT REMOVE. Does this mean that I cannot use those ports to add another monitor to my display? If there is a work-around to this issue, please explain to me how I may go about it.

Thank you,

Is this your pc?

If you have this Radeon HD 6670 Video card inside, you can connect one vga or dvi monitor and one hdmi or dvi monitor.

So for example 2 dvi monitors will work - you will need one hmdi-to dvi-adapter.

And - NO - you can't use the integrated graphics chip with the covered ports as long as the additional graphics card is installed.

Yes, that is my PC.

Will an HDMI to VGA adapter work as well?

Why is it that I cannot use the other outputs? Why did they come with the computer if that is the case?

Thank you for your help.

Re: Can I connect two monitors on one PC tower?cc=us

hdmi is digital, vga is analog, I don`t believe that you'll find a working adapter.
Maybe a converter, but that will not be cheap.

The other outputs are disabled when a additional graphics card is installed. To which output device should the cpu talk?
It's not a crossover connection, also the chips are very different, so it would not work.

If the additional card is defect, you can use the internal chip.
Sometimes just useful, and almost any mobo now has this opportunity.
