Hi,
I recently purchased Alibre 2012 PE CAD System. Everything appears to be working fine. The issue I'm having is in shading with hidden-line-removal in 3D mode. I get read through of the hidden lines when I zoom out. When I zoom in, they disappear.
Any idea what might be the trouble? It appears to be a graphic issue. Is there a specific setting on the grahics card? I contacted Alibre and they said the issue has nothing to do with their software.
My new HP I loaded Alibre onto is the Pavilion H8 1214.
Thank you,
Bob

Hi Bob,
Please post the product number for your PC.
What video card is installed in your PC? You might try going to the video card manufacturer's web site and download and install the latest video driver.
You have the Personal Edition which might not contain the functionality that you desire or it has a bug(s). Did you look for program updates?
Since the PE version is not native 64 bit (you need the pro version) then try IE 9 32 bit which should be on your PC under the Start button --> Programs
Are you using a digital cable connection such as HDMI or DVI to your monitor without using adapters? This is perhaps a long shot but I have seen weird things happen.

Hi Dave,
The product number for my PC is QW701AA#ABA.
The video card is Radeon HD 7450 Graphics Card W/1gb DDR3.
I also looked for Alibre product updates and it says it up-to-date.
You say...
Since the PE version is not native 64 bit (you need the pro version) then try IE 9 32 bit which should be on your PC under the Start button --> Programs
How do you know that the Alibre PE version is not native 64 bit?
Thanks Dave,
Bob

Hi Bob,
I looked at the Alibre site and it indicated that the "PRO" version is 64 bit (to take full advantage of 64 bit). You can run the PE version on both 32/64 bit systems but if you want the memory performance to address beyond 4 GB then you need the 64 bit version of Alibre.
There is a bios update posted for your PC.
You might try a Radeon driver update from the AMD web site.

Alibre support in Germany recomend Nvidia cards - what does Alibre Inc. in USA says about Radeon?
Also any 'supported' graphics driver level they announce?
V.
