I have just bought a LCD HP 2009f and connect it to my laptop LW25 through VGA out port.
+ The laptop is equipped with Intel GMA 950 display adapter.
+ The native resolution of this LCD is 1600 x 900.
Unfortunately the Display Properties dialog only allows me to set the maximum resolution to 1280 x 768.
=> What should I do to get to the desired resolution 1600 x 900 ?
Thanks in advance .

Maybe not. Guess 'we' are busy elsewhere. If the advice resolved the issue, until 'we' post back, we'll never know.

Hi guys,
Sorry for late reply. Of course, I have installed latestest version but the key point is that my laptop does not allow resolution 1600 x 900 (although it can display 1600 x 1200).
But this has been solved by using PowerStrip (http://entechtaiwan.com/util/ps.shtm) to define a custom resolution (1598 x 900).
Hope this help cases like mine.
Cheers,
Nam

'PowerStrip' sounds like a saving grace for many users who experience display issues.
Did you 'trial' the PowerStrip's shareware, make your needed changes and maybe find the changes are permanent even after the trial expired?
Kudos for this post because I'm sure many users are so sorely disafforded from suitably using our 'decrepid' 2 or 3 year old external monitors, plus those less than versatile display screens usually availed on netbooks.
Hopefully 'PowerStrip' will resolve thoses issues and even more like that experienced by various software that has been somewhat hastily and/or infelxibly compiled* (if that's the right term), ref. the problematically inherent non-adjustable "main windows" of programs like eRightSoft's SUPER, McAfee Security, etc.
