After what we think was a power surge, the HP 2010i monitor we had attached to an AT&T U-verse receiver failed (as did the receiver). Before, when the monitor worked, the glowing light on the power switch was always blue, but now it's white, and we can't get anything to display regardless of what it's connected to. The monitor never shows its OSD info either.
It's a great monitor and I hate to throw it away if all it needs is something as simple as a fuse.
Does anyone recognize this odd symptom (a change in the switch light color)? Any chance there could be a fix we could do here at home? If we can't do it ourselves, I'm sure a service call would cost about as much as a new monitor, so we won't go that route.
Thanks!

Thank you, but I've already found and worked through those steps. No video source makes a picture appear, nor do I ever get an OSD. The unique symptom here is that the light in the switch is white instead of blue, which it had been previously.

It may also be relevant that the white light appears in the switch immediately upon plugging in the monitor, and it does not turn off after pressing the switch or even holding the switch down for 15+ seconds. If I recall, when the monitor was working, the switch lit up blue only when it was on; pressing the switch would turn the monitor off and make the light go out.

It did take an electrical hit so I am guessing someone will have to take the cover off and see if there is a fuse or damaged part to replace.
