I just picked up two 19 inch HP Compaq LE1911 monitors to connect to my laptop via a docking station (Dell e6420 laptop running on windows 7). The docking station has a VGA port and DVI port. As the HP monitors only have VGA outputs I bought a USB / VGA adapter (Eclipse SEE2UV150) in order to connect the second monitor. While both work, the monitor attached the USB adapter does not have the same resolution (event though it's set to 1280 x 1024) as the VGA connected monitor. ...ex; when I open an excel file on the USB connected monitor I can't see the grid lines due to the lack of contrast. I've messed w/ all the settings but I still can't get the same look as the VGA monitor. Ironically ...when I hit the auto adjust on the monitor I can see it snap into perfect focus before it finally settles to a non-optimal resolution.
Any ideas on how to fix would be most appreciated.
