I decided I wanted to upgrade my graphics recently.  I bought a 520W power supply to support the extra powe of the graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce GT 610).  I also got a DVI-A adapter.  When I plug the card in and hook the moniter up, the power light flashes and makes beeping noises at me. I have tried to enter the BIOS to locate the Primary Display Adapter, but have been unable to.  I do know once I find it, I need to change the primary to "PCI".

So, my question is this: how do I access the Primary Display Adapter on this computer?

Hi:

Did you change the required BIOS settings before installing your new video card?

If not, most likely that is the cause of your dilemma.

Paul,

registered jsut to repsond to you. My brother has the same issue with getting a discrete card working on his 700-216. He gets the black screen and mobo beeping. I already had him disable secure boot in the uefi/bios. When I click on your link, it re-directs to a generic HP support page. What were you linking to? Or rather what other settings need to be changed in the MSI 7778 (jasmine) motherboard?

Thanks
