HP Pavilion a6000 monitor black

[ Edited ]

Over the past week my HP desktop would randomly shut off when i was on it. I thought that it had something to do with my RAM so I doubled it and unfortunately it still shutoff so i decided to take another look inside.

After another glance i saw that my three fans were severely clogged with dust and needed cleaning but i didn't have any compressed air or means to get it. It was then that i decided to do it with two pencils and about thirty minutes later i was done.

I reconnected everything to the computer and turned it on, then plugged the power into the monitor and turned it on. The monitor power button lit up blue then turned orange. I could heard the sound of the computer logging into Windows but i couldn't see anything.

I rebooted everything and it did the same thing. I checked inside of the computer and made sure I didn't knock anything loose and it seemed that I didn't. Unfortunately the monitor still did the same thing it did before. I followed numerous tutorials one of which was http://h10010.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bph04760&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3376908.

Nothing seemed to work and so I've come here seeking help from the intelligent minds on this forum. Please help :smileyhappy:

P.S. Sorry for my bad english

EDIT:

Okay, so i ran my computer with another monitor and cables and the screen was still black so the problem is internal. Probably dislodged somethins, but what...?

Can you give us the exact model please?

So we can see your specs.

(Do you have several graphics outputs?)

Re: HP Pavilion a6000 monitor black

Thank you for the reply.

I eventually got it to work last night, I straightend out some pins and changed from a VGA cord to HDMI and it started to work. Working better than ever actually.
