My HP has Intel Gen2 i3-2130 with IntelHD Graphics. Outputs are DVI and VGA. I have VGA going to Samsung LCD monitor as HP does not have HDMI output. Monitor does not have DVI input just VGA and HDMI. I do not game play but do watch movies etc. Will Separate graphics card and HDMI connection greatly improve graphics/picture? If so what specs are needed for the card? Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi,
Try a DVI to HDMI cable. This site has the cable for around $10. You will get a slightly better picture with a digital connection.
BTW, the video processor on the motherboard will support two monitors at the same time.

HI,
I wouldn't expect a descrite video card to give you a noticeable better quality picture for watching TV compared to using the DVI connector on the motherboard. However, you would get better performance and perhaps some advanced texture features that are used mainly by the new games.

Thanks again Dave! I am going to try the DVI to HDMI cable, ordered it today. Performace at this point is not too much of a problem, only some Youtube stopping with the spin circle in frame then continuing. I would guess a descrite video card would prevent that from happening, correct? Thanks for the response. I love my new HP p7-1226s computer!

Hi,
So you have a spinning circle with uTube?
Perhaps your internet connection is too slow. Test your connection speed here.
Other things to try:
Be sure that your PC is not running a virus scan or a hard drive compaction.
Download cookienator and clean house.
Clear the browsing history in your browser
If you are using Abobe Flash player then uninstall it and install the latest version. Reboot after the installation.
