Hi,I have a HP Pavillion a4316f-b Computer and whenever I boot up after it says "Starting Windows" then monitor just turns black. I have to Turn off the monitor and turn it back on. When I first got this Computer I thought maybe it supposed to do it and later on I figured maybe something was wrong with it. It's a good Computer overall but I don't know why it does that.
Here's some info :
Model -HP Pavillion a4316f-b
OS - Windows 7 Ultimate
Graphics Card - NVIDIA GeForce 9100
64-Bit PC
1 Terabyte Hardrive
AMD Athlon II 620 Quad-Core Processor
Thanks in advance (:

Try to boot into safe mode.
Do you use anti-virus software?
I would do a full virus scan and a defragmentation when the pc is up again.
Else try to use repair mode from windows cd.

ok I have tried everything. even reformating and loading windows. It took about 4 hours to load windows and I still have not made it threw the setup. It gets to starting windows for the 1st time and its like it sets there and then goes into hibernation.
Does anyone know if the processor might have went out? or maybe the wrong setting in the Bios?
I'm about to give up on it...........

>It took about 4 hours to load windows
Check all connections inside.
Check for dust, clean everything, dis-assemble and re-assemble all components and connectors.
Clear CMOS.
Try less RAM (only one module for example - one after the other)
You could also use a RAM testing program - google for one.
Next would be the psu - do you know anybody with a psu tester?
Or lend one psu from a friend and test it.
>or maybe the wrong setting in the Bios?
Check the boot priorities.
Or maybe the dvd drive is defect, try to boot without it.
You can test to reset BIOS to factory settings.
At least it could be the mainboard or the cpu - hard to test.
I think you need a repair store then.
Hope something helps
