Hi
Product Name: HP Pavilion Media Center m8175a
Operating System: Windows Vista 32-bit
RAM: 3GB
Error Message: Cannot boot computer.
I have problem with installing "ASUS EAH5450 Silent" Video Graphics card into my PC(HP Media center m8175a).
This is what I did;
Uninstalled existing Video card(GEForce 7500LE) from device manager
Turn off PC
Removed Video card(GEForce 7500LE)
Installed "ASUS EAH5450 Silent" Video Graphics card into PCI-E slot
connected DVI cable to Video Cards
Turn on Computer
Computer does not Boot. As far as I searched it looks this video card supports PSU 300W. Am I doing something wrong? Does My PC support "ASUS EAH5450 Silent" Video Graphics card?
Please help to solve it.
Thanks in advance,

Hi Lynn,
I have seen posts where ATI 5xxx video cards did not work in older HP PCs.
Try clearing the CMOS. If this doesn't work then get a differnet video card (non-ATI 5xxx) that is rated for a 300 watt power supply. There is a possibility that the video card is bad.
$50--->NVIDIA GT 430 9.6 GB/s --single slot width
$65--->NVIDIA GT 520 8 GB/s -- single slot width
$80--->NVIDIA GT 440 25.6 GB/s -- single slot width
$130-->NVIDIA GT 545 43 GB/s -- single slot width ---- might be hard to find but perhaps only in the store
$110-->NVIDIA GT 240 1GB DDR5. 54.4 GB/s single slot width This card doesn't support DirectX 11 which is optionally used in some of the newer PC games but it is an excellent performer.

Thank you veru much for your help.
I did clearing the CMOS today and tried it, but I cannot get into BIOS.
I also tried the following Graphics cards
Asus GT210 1G DDR3 DVI-I HDMI LP VER Slient , Model# EN210-SLN-DI-1GD3-V2-LP
Zotac GT210 1G DDR2 DVI-I HDCP HDMI LP Synergy Ed, Model# ZT-20305-10L
It was the same I cannot get into BIOS. I have been told because my PC has DDR2 interface I have selected wrong video cards. for the second one(Zotac ), I think it is faulty card. I am sure the problem is not from PCIe slot. do you think the GT 430 may work with my PC?

Hi,
I not am sure why you want to get into the bios at this point but tapping F10 repeatedly after your power on the PC should get you into the bios.
The above video cards that I referenced should work in your PC unless your PC has some other issue.

what I mean, after I turn on PC , power is on and the screen is black. the Blue Page with HP Pavilion does not come and monitor light is off. even I waited 10 minutes nothing happened.I will order GT430 and see if that one works. Thanks again for your help.
