HP w1907 Monitor

Yes, whenever I turn on my HP desktop, the monitor automatically says "Monitor Going To Sleep"

And when I try to get rid of it, it just says "Monitor Going To Sleep"

Basically, my monitor wont stop going to sleep even when i try to un-sleep it...

Re: HP w1907 Monitor

Try disconnecting the keyboard from the PC before turning on the PC.

Try unplugging teh monitro from Power and leaving it unplugged for ~ 1 minute before connecting it up again.

If you can, try one of the other video connectors on the back of the monitor.

Re: HP w1907 Monitor

Well, I just found out that it isn't just my monitor, it's my PC.

We tried hooking up our other HP Monitor from our other desktop and it said the same thing.

So, what should I do now?

Re: HP w1907 Monitor

Is the sleep button on your keyboard stuck? Connect a different keyboard.

The sleep signal is carried along one of the wires/pins through the connection form the PC to the monitor. Try a different video cable.

If you have more than one video port on the back of your computer - mnay HP PCs have VGA and DVI for example... then connect a monitor using a different video cable.

Re: HP w1907 Monitor

Does that mean there are 2 different cables for the 2 different video ports?

Re: HP w1907 Monitor

But, it's not just the monitor.

After we hooked up our other HP's Monitor to it, the monitor just said "Monitor Going To Sleep".

But, when we hooked up our old Compaq PC to the HP w1907 Monitor, it worked fine.

So, I dont know what it is.

What model PC do you have and when you boot up do you see the HP blue screen?

Go to the Control Panel  ---> Power Options and reset your power plan back to the defaults.

Re: HP w1907 Monitor

It had showed the HP Blue Screen one time, but when it was on it, it said dummping physical memory.

But, now I can't even get to the login part because the monitor wont come out of sleep mode.

Re: HP w1907 Monitor

Monitor goes to sleep.  Will not come out of sleep mode.  Tried hitting ESC key, CNTRL ALT DEL and won't work.  How do you fix, or, disable sleep mode.  Computer is a COMPAC Presario with Vista home edition system.
