HP w2207h monitor won't power on

I was sitting at my computer and something happened to the power, nothing connected to the surge protector (computer, monitor, light, external harddrive) was on. It may have been a loose chord b/c when I checked where the surge protector hit the wall everything turned back on... except the monitor.

I tried:

a. using a different chord - nothing

b. using another outlet - nothing

c. using another monitor on the computer - old monitor worked with the computer

I let it sit for 6 hours or so and then tried again. I did get the monitor to turn on with a different chord in another socket - it wasn't hooked up to the computer so it was searching for an input. I turned it off and moved it back to the computer and hooked it up but nothing. I went back to the same socket where I had it working a minute before and again nothing. I've since tried every day for a few days with different chords and sockets but haven't gotten it back on again.

Is this monitor dead? I think not.

Is it worth a repair? Can it be repaired?  Can I do it myself?

Any thoughts or suggestions about a. me fixing it, b. getting it fixed, or c. giving up on it.

SKIT, here is the "Solve a problem" section for your monitor.  I would try some of the solutions to see if they help.  If not, you may have a failed monitor.  Repairing a monitor is not a DIY task.  They are very fragile and if not completely failed, they can become that way with one mis-step.  I would have it checked by a qualified tech.

Thanks for the reply. I went through that list before posting. None of them address the problem.

HP does have a troubleshooting chart, but once you get to the point where you can't power the monitor on, it's a dead end - there's no suggestion of what to do from there.
