HP2009 monitor wont work with ps3

i just bought a hp2009m,i connect it to my pc,everything is ok,beatiful picture.

i bought a ps3 and when i try to connect my hdmi cable with a dvi adapter,i get message that reads

Input signal out of rage

change settings to 1600x900 60 hz,well  its already at the setting,any solutions will be apreciated.

I have the same problem. Cant even view the OSD menu with the Ps3 plugged.  Using the VGA conection with my PC the OSD can be opened but the custom scaling menu from Image Control is not highlighted. What I was hoping to do is adjust the image resolutions manually before connecting the Ps3 and see if it works.

After reading some of the messages saying that HP might not be reading this forum, I made a quick research and luckily  I found the solution. Our monitor HP2009m can only support up to 720p resolution.

To be able to use the PS3 on the hp 2009m monitor using a hdmi-dvi adapter, you must first plug the PS3 on a tv via the hdmi port and change the video output settings. the procedure can be found on your ps3 manual.

Video output settings

HDMI

Custom

make sure that only 720 and 480 are the only ones with check. Uncheck 1080I and 1080 p

save the settings.

You will now be able to use the ps3 on the hp2009M monitor.

hi thank for the info,well i did what you said and it works,the only thing is that im not getting any sound.did you have this problem?let me know how you fix it.

same thing as the video output settings, change audio output settings in ps3 to audio input connector. Use the multi connector with rca jacks supplied with the ps3. Only the red and white jacks are used for audio output, I plugged mine in the aux port of a component stereo and it worked
