Hauppauge WinTV 723x, Audio In & Video In not working in Windows Media Center

Hello this is my first post,

I am having  an issue with my TV tuner, Hauppauge WinTV 723x, and Windows Media Center.  I just want to connect my Wii to the tv tuner via the Audio Video Inputs so that I can run it on Windows Media Center or another display program.  I have the tv cable connect also.  The cable tv works but I cannot get the Wii to display.  Any suggestions?

Re: Hauppauge WinTV 723x, Audio In & Video In not working in Windows Media Center

Hello,

Are you tring to connect your Nintendo Wii gaming console to the  TV Tuner to have the games played via Windows Media Center?

What is the purpose of connecting the Wii to the TV tuner? Did you tried to connect the Wii to a PC monitor instead?

I am not sure you can do what you are trying.

THanks,

Re: Hauppauge WinTV 723x, Audio In & Video In not working in Windows Media Center

Hello,

Additional Info:

The Wii Component Video Cable allows you to hook your Wii console system to a high-definition TV (HDTV) or enhanced-definition TV (EDTV) to view 480p progressive output. 480p progressive output displays at a higher resolution than standard 480i resolution. Click here for more information on hooking up your Wii using the Component Video Cables.

Please note that your TV must be a high-definition TV (HDTV) or enhanced-definition TV (EDTV) to view 480p output. You will also be required to change your Wii settings from Standard TV (480i) to EDTV/HDTV to view 480p. Click here for details on changing your Wii console system settings or check page 44 in your Wii console system 'Channels & Settings' manual.

You cannot see Wii progressive display output when the Wii console system is hooked to a TV using any other kind of cable.

NOTE: This component video cable is for the Wii and will not work with any other system. In addition, the Nintendo GameCube Component Video Cable will not work with the Wii.

Wii Component Video Cable Length: 8.2 ft./2.5 m

Thanks,
