Hooked up my W2338h monitor with HDMI - now no sound

Hi everybody,

Recently got a S5280T computer with a W2338h monitor and external speakers with subwoofer.

Hooked up the monitor with a HDMI cable and now no sound throught the external speakers. The little piece of paper HP supplied with the instructions to "activate" the sound didn't work.

Any ideas?

Go into the (Realtek?) audio manager.Should be something like Control panel/ Hardware and sound/Realtek

HD audio manager (sorry i'm using Vista,but Win 7 should be similiar) click on the tab for speakers & make

sure it is set as the default device.Also ..assuming you are using a powered speaker/sub combo,the 3.5mm  cable should be plugged into the "line out" (green colored) jack on the computer. Good Luck.
