Hi, for your p6787c,

Please elaborate/confirm "I have attached them at the appropriate rear jacks."  One of the 2311x's is connected via HDMI and the other is connected with DVI?

Are you using any adaptors?

Which one is working, the HDMI or the DVI?

Re: I have a dual 2311 monitors and a HP Pavillion p6787c CPU. I cannot find locate the onboard pro

This is a related issue I wanted to post the solution to. I was trying to set up dual monitors on my desktop computer, which has a DVI and an HDMI port. Each monitor works only when connected alone via the DVI cable. Once the second monitor is plugged in via the HDMI cable, the HP 2311x would say "Check video cable" or the U2410 would just have a black screen. The computer would recognize the presence of the second monitor, but I was not able to see anything on the second monitor itself. Solution: Manually select the HDMI setting on the monitor that is using the HDMI cable. The monitor itself should have buttons that allow you to select the input source like DVI, HDMI, or VGA. I think the monitor automatically recognized the DVI cable when I initially hooked up the monitor to the desktop, but when I switched to an HDMI cable, the monitor thought I was still using a DVI cable.
