Image size > monitor

Monitor:  HP 2010i, with wide screen.

Suddenly some screen images are slightly wider than the screen, cutting off the right edge. I can see the first two digits of the time, and can see the month, but the X to turn off the program is off-screen. This occurs with the HP home screen and with Google Earth 6, for instance, but not with the current screen for the support forum or with many other programs. Probably some accidental command entered, but how can I reverse it?

Re: Image size > monitor

I've had this problem when using HDMI input on my 2310 monitor.  What kind of monitor are you using and input are you using?

Re: Image size > monitor

The monitor is a HP 2010i, purchased 2009. Signal source is a HP computer running Windows 7. This monitor has a wide screen, about 10 1/2 inches high and 17 inches wide.

Most program screens still fit on the screen, but some, as well as the screen that appears when no program is running, project a bit beyond the right edge of the screen. The change occurred suddenly, possibly as the result of some unintended keystrokes.

Re: Image size > monitor

Thanks again for the suggestion. The monitor didn't respond to clicking on 'factory reset', but I found that pressing the 'Auto' button on the base did the trick.
