When trying to install SP1 and SP2 onto my Compaq Presario SR5027UK with Windows Vista Home Premium (the OS supplied with the machine) the machine no longer boots up.
I have had to reformat the machine and perform a fresh install to get the service packs to install at all, and now the machine will only boot into safe mode if the display adapter is enabled.
I have downloaded and installed both the original and the updated driver recommended for this machine from the compaq website and neither of those resolves the issue.
I have been working with the service pack support team at Microsoft to ensure that the problem is not service pack related and they assure me it's a problem with the driver. We have also tried the latest driver direct from Intel and this does not work either.
The machine has integrated graphics using the Intel Family Express Chipset. The machine is ruinning the 32 bit version of vista and has not be altered or upgraded, all equipment is OEM.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a solution for this problem or offer any ideas?
Thanks.
