Monitor Takes 1 Hour + To Come On

Computer works fine, but it take a very long time for the monitor to come on. Once the monitor comes on, everything works well. What could be wrong?

What kind of monitor?

 

If LCD, what happens if, after you turn on the computer and wait for 1 minute, you unplug the power from the monitor and plug it back in?

Hi - I have the same problem. HP 19vd LCD monitor. Getting prgressively worse. It now takes an hour or more to come on. But once on, everything is fine. Blue power light will start blinking rapidly and making noise after some time, and eventually just turns on. I've run virus and spyware checks, looked for updated drivers on this website (it says my drivers are up to date for monitor and graphics card). Is the monitor dying a slow death or what? Can it be fixed? PLEASE HELP!
