My 2338h is going through what appears to be a test cycle! Will not display input [ Edited ]

I have an hp w2338h widescreen monitor. There was a power surge at my house and now the screen will not display input and gives me no clue as to what is wrong. It cycles through color screens continuously when plugged in. It goes blue, black, white grey, then displays a screen with 4 horizontal color bars. From Top they are red green, blue and white. It then starts the cycle again. Can anyone tell me what's wrong and point me in the direction of how to fix?

Try to reset monitor to factory configuration.
Unplug monitor from power and hold the power button for 60 sec.
Then plug the monitor back in and power it up.

Do you know if your pc is still working?

Hey thanks for your reply. I tried unplugging the monitor and holding down the power button for 60 seconds. It seems to have had no affect unfortuantely.  I also noticed that the power button does not light up at all (it used to light up blue) not sure if that makes any difference.

My computer seems to have a blown power supply as a result of this same surge, which i intend to replace as soon as I find an appropriate replacement (acer aspire, so that shouldn't b a problm).

Any other thoughts?  Thanks in advance!

I have a laptop/ notebook connected so it should be displaying that output or (maybe) telling me that there is a problem with the connection. Menu and screen adjustment buttons are also unresponsive
