NO FIREWIRE CARDS WILL WORK IN PCIEx1 SLOTS of HP PAVILION P6653 [ Edited ]

I have tried several brand new firewire cards in the HP Pavilion PP6653 PC, using Windows 7 Home premium.  Not one will communicate with my firewire mixer.  All I get is static, even when I use it as a regular sound card for Windows Media player, VLC player, etc., just static.  I tried the cards in all the PCI-E slots available, no change.  When it became obvious that none of these cards were going to work in the HP Pavilion P6653 I decided the re-check the functionality of my "Alesis Multimix 16 firewire mixer", so I hooked it back up to my old computer using a plain PCI Firewire card in a plain PCI slot  and it worked perfectly, seamlessly with absolutely no problems at all !!!  I am a Studio Engineer by trade and I need this to work if that's possible, my customers are getting very angry at the delays. I use a recording sequencer called Steinberg Nuendo all it does is freezer up when I try to record.  Yes, in "Device Manager"it registers the firewire card and the Alesis sound driver, but it won't play anything but static on this compuer.  On my old computer it works fine.  I purchased this new HP P6653 becuase my workload was increasing and I needed a faster and more efficeint computer.

I called Alesis and after extensive troubleshooting they informed me the the issue is not with the Mixer, after much testing seeing that it perfomed flawlessly and perfectly in every aspect  on all other computers and even tried to get it working on the new HP but couldn't..

PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME WITH THIS, IM AT MY WITS END!  DO I HAVE A DEFECTIVE MOTHERBOARD?  ARE THERE ONLY CERTAIN FIREWIRE CARDS THAT WORK WITH THIS THING! SHOULD I HAVE WENT WITH ANOTHER COMPUTER BRAND OR AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG! 

PLEASE CAN SOMEONE GIVE ME SOME ASSISTANCE.

This is a Customer to Customer Product Support - it seems like nobody had such a problem till now, and nobody can reproduce it.
Either contact HP directly or go to a pc store and ask for a solution.

I see, thanks for the suggestions.  I must howvever admit, I am really suprised that HP doesn't have company  techs frequenting this site like most other support forums seeing that on most other support forums I can usually get problems"like or similar" to this easily resolved.  It woud definitely be more helpful.  I will take your advice and contact HP support. bye
