Trying to utilize Microsoft Movie Maker 2.  Requires the most recent driver for HD Graphics in my Pavillion p6330f desktop PC.  The 8.15.10.2119 (4/21/2010) that is installed will not work with Movie Maker 2 and apparently needs a driver at least 8.15.10.2761 or later that is compatible with my p6330f PC.  The Intel site says my p6330f uses a custom driver for HD Graphics and that I should contact HP for a recommendation.

Hello,

 

Please try to use the following utilities to look for a newer driver:

 

www.ma-config.com

www.slimwareutilities.com

 

If this fails you to get the latest driver version, go to control panel, device manager, and if you go to the video card properties, select the tab called Details and look for the Hardware IDs, you can put here the PCI\VEN_xxxx&DEVxxxx information so that I can look for the newest drivers.

Downloaded & used DriverUpdate to obtain the latest Intel HD Graphics driver for the HP p6330p.  Unfortunately I received the message that the driver found was not acceptable and it refused to load it.  The good news is that 12 other drivers have now been updated!

 

I looked at your suggestion to go to the Driver Details and specificially the Hardware IDs and look for

PCI\VENxxxx&DEVxxxx information.  The following are listed:

 

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0042&SUBSYS_2A9C103C&REV2

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0042&SUBSYS_2A9C103C

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0042&CC_030000

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0042&CC_0300

 

You say to use this information to look for the newest drivers but where?  I am not clear on just how to proceed knowing the above.

If that does not work, try to download this one:

I went back and reread the error message I get from trying to run Microsoft Windows Movie Maker 2.

 

It says at the time of that message the latest Intel HD Graphics Driver (as of May 24, 2012) was 18.15.10.2761

 

I looked on the Microsoft link you provided and could not find this driver listed.

 

The latest driver for Intel HD Graphics was issued on April 11, 2013 and is 19.18.10.3107

 

Here is what it supports ....

As I understand the problem with Movie Maker 2 it is calling for drivers released later than 18.15.10.2321 n(2010).  Seems to me that I should install the latest one (listed above) to be up to date.
 
What do you think?
