No VGA input

[ Edited ]

Compter model - HP Pavilion GG646AA

Operating System - Windows Vista 32-bit

Error message - on monitor, no VGA input

Any changes made - no changes made

I've looked on the internet and it seems like I'm not the only HP user to encounter this problem. Any way in solving this problem?

Re: No VGA input

Do u know what monitor this system is tied to for the screen message?

not sure if the monitor is VGA only, or the system is VGA only…

If the monitor shows an error message it means the monitor is basically working. You can try the same monitor on another computer, or try another monitor on the same computer. If you have something else available.

Troubleshooting No Video or No Signal Detected is probably the most difficult thing if you are not sure if either the PC or Monitor are good.

Re: No VGA input

I've tried connecting the computer to a different monitor but it still doesn't work. I've read online that it's something to do with the warranty expiring, but if so, HP is just being ridiculous. If your warranty expires, you can't use your computer. If so, I'm never going to buy another HP product.

Re: No VGA input

I am surprised that it would have to do with the warranty expiring as that only involves entitlement to you not anything to do with the system or display.

Re: No VGA input

That's what I've read, and it probably is cause my computer's fine. Was working perfectly well the night before. Tried to use it the next night and up came this. Been tryin to fix and the worst thing is, you can't even talk to a HP advisor cause they charge a fee just to talk to someone.
