No mic boost for headset.

This is my first post on here.

Today I have bought myself a HP Premium Digital Headset and so far it is great for sound but having a problem with the microphone.

When I try to talk into it nothing comes out, mute button is not on and when I go to sound settings there does not seem to be a mic boost setting. I have Windows 7 on my laptop and wondering if there is a way to fix is, I really need my microphone working :smileysad:

Thank you!

ArrayAnimay, welcome to the forum.

Have you checked the settings in the Control Panel/Sound to assure that the microphone is set as the default?  This is not always done automatically.

In the future when requesting help, you should always include the make/model of the computer and/or monitor. This information is necessary for us to review the specifications of them.

Please click "Accept as Solution" if your problem is solved.

Re: No mic boost for headset.

It would be worth noting that I have experienced a situation where the Mic boost is reset by Windows on reboots on my home PC. I have yet to find a solution and typically just have to go into the recording devices options and tweak the boost back to +10 or +20 db.
