No on-screen volume display for Hp Pavilion Dv4 (2011)

This is the first time i got an Hp Laptop and I just noticed that there is no Onscreen display when im changing the volume using the volume keys, it works and all but just no onscreen display so i have to check the level of volume manually.

 

Same issue on the brightness adjustment, i think it would be alot easier to check the level of volume and brightness if it had an onscreen display.

 

Is this normal for my laptop? If not how can I fix this?

 

I have an HP Pavilion Dv4 2011 edition, running in Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

 

Help please.

Hi,

 

Although not specifically for your notebook, try downloading and installing the HP OSD utility on the link below.

 

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52501-53000/sp52956.exe

 

After this installation has completed, restart the notebook.

Thank you for the Hp OSD Utility information! i was kind of hesitant to use the link you gave me because you said its not specifically or my notebook i just had to search about it my self and found this link.

it had the file sp51701.exe instead of the sp52956.exe on the link you provided.

 

i downloaded it and it worked! whew, but thank you for your help dude. wouldnt get there if you havent told me about this hp osd utility haha! :smileyvery-happy:
