I'm trying to run the video from a HP-s3720y to a Panasonic Viera 42" plasma. I have checked using a smaller monitor and the computer works fine. It is connected from the VGA out on the computer to a VGA/DVI Adapter to a DVI/HDMI cable with the HDMI plugged into the plasma. No picture, zip, none. Maybe its a bad DVI/HDMI cable but it is not a bad Adapter as that checked out OK. But I do not suspect the cable. Any ideas?
Cheers

Try directly from VGA to a HDMI convertor and check what happens .
Do you have any suggestions for a VGA to HDMI convertor? The ones I've seen are very expensive and I wonder if installing a HD graphics adapter will produce better video output and also be more cost-effective.

There is no other ways to send signal thru cables? I seen VGA to HDMI adapters on sale. Description says, you can use this cable only if your graphic card support HD signal. Adapter cost 5 buks, it more reason to buy only adaptor. Is anybody knows more about this?
p.s.
I have same problem like topic starter.

thanks for link, but question is "how to choose the right one ", not "where to buy cables?".

I was hoping that PCCABLES had a converter. You just can't can't connect a VGA analog signal to HDMI which is digital.
Your PC is spec'd with a 160 watt power supply so that will rule out a discrete video card.
Something like this converter might work. The PC's on board video resolution will limit the resolution to your TV.
