Hi there!
I just purchased my new desktop at the beginning of September and now I am having some issues with the graphic card/driver. What is happening is when I start the machine in normal mode, I see the HP screen and then the monitor loses signal. However, when I start the machine in Safe Mode, the monitor works fine. What I did was uninstalled the current driver (while in safe mode) and rebooted. This helped but Vista automatically reverts back to the driver I had when I start back up in normal mode. ( I should also note the monitor is not HP, but the monitor is not the issue here).
I currently have a Nvidia GeForce GT 230 (version: 8.15.11.8627) I am running Vista (64) and have not been able to find a newer driver on HP.com or nvidia.com. Sources tell me this is the most updated version, which is fine... but its not working correctly. Other sources tell me that this is not a mainstream card yet, so there will not be any compatable drivers.
So what I am wondering is how do I fix this? Is there an older driver I can use instead? I tried the 7.15.11.8223 version and it would not let me install. It said that I was running a 32 bit program on a 64 bit system, yet the specs said I had the correct one.
Thanks to anyone who can help me and is there anyone else out there expirencing this?
Thanks,

N_O, I would uninstall the nVidia drivers. Use 'Driver Sweeper' in 'Safe Mode' to remove any remnants of them. Here is a link:

Shut down your computer. Remove and reinstall the video card. Then, reboot. Once the computer has booted, hopefully, the Windows drivers will be installed and you will have video. Then, install the latest nVidia drivers and reboot. This may just do the trick.

micraizm,
I've seen something somewhat similar, but under Vista, if I go too long without moving the mouse. The problem usually goes away in a few seconds if I then move the mouse.

Micraizm, I suggest starting your own thread. It should get more interest if you do so.

Hi, I have this video card but I want to use the option as multiple monitors. How do I get it to setup for multiple monitors?
