Hi!
I have a "Pavillion s3010.sc" that runs with Windows 7.
I tried to install a new video card "nVidia Geforce 210" into the pci-slot,.. but it just wont recognise it. Nothing happens, like its not even installed.
Since the original video card is built in the motherboard i cant just throw it away as usual.
I have found several forums with the same question, but no one seems to have the answer ..
BIOS- settings?? I have tried other videocard. Same result.
Please help,,.. /

Hi,
Do you mean the PCI-Express x16 slot rather than the PCI slot?

You stated that you have tried other video cards. Were those cards Radeon HD PCI-Express x16 cards?
Have you tried the NVIDIA card you started the post about in another PC to veriify that it works?
Have you checked in the Device Manager while using the onboard video and the NVIDIA card installed to see if the operating system recognizes the card/

Sorry , tried another card of SAME model
nvidia geforce 210
Ive managed to find out that i needs atleast 300w... and that the one in cpu only delivers 150w....
And that you cannot upgrade it,..
(hp-support sweden) ... sounds a little funny..
I see nothing in the device-manager.
What to do??

Since your PC is a slimline case type I will have to say you will have to use a less powerful video card that does not require more than perhaps 10 watts. Nvidia does not offer anything in the 200 series that will work in your situation.
I have seen a power supply available for a slimline case that states that it is capable of 320 Watts. I have not read any reviews on the PSU.
The limitation you are facing in this case is the PC's enclosure. The lack of physical space has made upgrading to a semi-powerful video card currently not viable. I suggest upgrading to something on the order of a Radeon HD3400 series PCI-Express video card with 512MB. A card with passive cooling would most likely be the best choice.
