Ps3 and Monitor Hp 2311x. Problem with Hdmi. no input!!!

Hi everyone!

I bought the Hp 2311x monitor and i wanted to use it with my Pc and my Ps3.

No problem for the pc, but i cant use it with the console.

it can't be a problem of the cable because i use it with another tv...and my hdmi monitor port works as well with other hardware!

I tried to reset video settings of the console (helding down the reset button till the red light come back) but nothing happens

The signal doesn't arrive to the monitor.

Any suggestion, anyone has the same problem?!

Sorry for my english -.-

Re: Ps3 and Monitor Hp 2311x. Problem with Hdmi. no input!!!

Hi,

What resolutions have you selected in the PS3 video setup?  They should be set to 720P or 1080P.

Try just cabling the PS3 to the monitor leaving your PC disconnected. Now power off the PS3 after you have saved the above video settings. Now try a monitor reset.  Unplug the monitor’s power cord and hold down the monitor’s power button for 30-60 seconds. Power up the monior and go into the monitor's menu and make sure that the video input is set to HDMI.

Now power up the PS3 and give it a go.

Re: Ps3 and Monitor Hp 2311x. Problem with Hdmi. no input!!!

hi, thank you for the answer but i have the same issue...

Is it normal that i can't change the video input, or press any button while the screen says to me

"check video cable" (this is the translation for "Controllare il cavo video")????

To do that i have to connect it to the pc, and change the settings..

i don't know if the monitor resets correctly i hadn't any feedback

:smileysad:

Thanks nevertheless

Re: Ps3 and Monitor Hp 2311x. Problem with Hdmi. no input!!!

Hi,

Contact HP Support.  There have been numerous posts pertaining to HDMI issues with the HP 2x11 monitors.

There appears to be a HDMI interface issue in these monitors.

HP's support number is 800-474-6836 or 800-HPINVENT or online here.

Try a different HDMI cable. A small impedance change in the cable my circumvent the issue.

Hi,

I would suggest that you contact HP Support.

I am asking HP to have an engineer look into the HDMI issues and the HP 2x11x monitors.

Hi Lidfrid, I was just about to buy a 2311X with the same idea - use with PC and PS3. Did you get it fixed or not?

Re: Ps3 and Monitor Hp 2311x. Problem with Hdmi. no input!!!

I had a similar issue with muliple PCs.  I unplugged the monitor for a minute, then turned it on and connected to the primary PC to see the screen.  From there I selected the montior default for auto detect.  Once that was on I can change inputs pretty quickly.

(I also held down the pwr button for 60 seconds but that didnt help.)
